With 3D models you can not have “mismatch issues” and you can easily detect mistakes in coordination phase and correct it while you are still in the design phase.
Another advantage is that you can make a Section or isometric view on every spot in the building while in traditional (2D) design you have just couple critical section trough building.
In order to enable the full potential of BIM, every discipline should have dedicated 3D model and coordination model. Usually, the model that will use all other discipline models is coordination model. We have experience with modeling complex civil designs but also with very detailed models for building services. Our models are very detailed (up to LOD 500) and very accurate in the terms of Quantity takeoffs (QTO) and Bill of quantities (BoQ).
Besides having just 3D model elements, every model also has a large number of LOI like properties of materials, sizes, system types, flow, pressure drop and custom properties in order to bring 4D, 5D and 6D analysis. All of that can be inputs for structural, heat and cooling load, thermal, pressure drop and other calculations.
